One of my favorite meals has always been lasagna, so, naturally, I was eager to learn how to make it once I began cooking alongside my dad. This family recipe is tied together with Tarvy D’s Famous Meat Sauce and is the perfect meal for any night of the week.
Lasagna
Servings: 8 servings
Ingredients
- 4 cups Homemade meat sauce or red sauce
- 1 box Lasagna sheets
- 1 cup Ricotta cheese
- 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup Fresh basil chopped
- 2 Eggs
- ½ cup Grated parmesean cheese
- 2 tbsp Salt
- 1 tsp Black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Cook lasagna sheets al dente in water with about 2 tbsp of salt – don’t overcook
- In a bowl mix ricotta, parmesan, black pepper, basil, and eggs set aside
- In a 9×12 baking pan begin layering
- Start with a layer of sauce, then lasagna sheets, sauce, ricotta, mozzarella
- Repeat layers lasagna, sauce, ricotta, mozzarella until pan is full
- Finish with a layer of sauce
- Bake 20 minutes at 350°
- Add a thin layer of mozzarella then bake for 5 minutes
